Cruise spends four hours talking to fans

Tom Cruise spent four hours chatting to fans on the red carpet last night at the London premiere of his latest film, 'Mission: Impossible: III'.

Cruise initially spent two and a half hours talking to well-wishers before going into the cinema to introduce the film, with fans booing as he entered the building. Shortly afterwards he re-emerged and continued his walkabout.

When asked if he was missing his newborn daughter Suri, the actor said: "How can you not? She's beautiful."

Explaining the choice of name for his daughter with actress Katie Holmes, he said: "We thought it was a really nice, sweet name. A lyrical name."

Cruise also revealed that he would be supporting England in the World Cup, as he is friends with David Beckham. "I've got to support my buddy. I want to see them win. Wouldn't it just be great for them?"
