Holmes & Cruise take baby Suri home

Katie Holmes and her fiancé Tom Cruise have taken their newborn daughter Suri home from hospital.

According to People magazine, Holmes and her baby daughter were discharged from the hospital within 24 hours of the birth.

A spokesperson for the couple earlier confirmed that both mother and baby were "doing well" but no other details about the birth were revealed.

According to the magazine, a source close to former 'Dawson's Creek' star Holmes said that the baby "has lots and lots of dark hair and big, blue eyes".

Baby Suri was born at a hospital in Los Angeles on Tuesday and weighed 7lbs 7oz. Her name means Princess in Hebrew or Red Rose in Persian.
