Brooke Shields gives birth to a girl
Actress Brooke Shields has given birth to her second child with television writer Chris Henchy, according to her publicist.
The baby girl, who is to be named Grier Hammond Henchy was born yesterday, the couple announced in a statement issued to People magazine.
Shields, who married Henchy in 2001, gave birth to their first daughter Rowan in May 2003.
Shields was recently criticised by actor Tom Cruise after she revealed in her book that she took anti-depressants after suffering from post-natal depression.
However, the 'Suddenly Susan' actress hit back at the comments, describing Cruise's words as a "ridiculous rant" and a "disservice to mothers everywhere".
