New James Bond villain is revealed

With shooting now underway in the Czech Republic, the identity of the villain in the new James Bond film 'Casino Royale' has been revealed.

Variety reports that Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen will play Le Chiffre in the 21st Bond film, which marks English actor Daniel Craig's debut as 007.

Mikkelsen's credits include 'King Arthur', the acclaimed Danish films 'Pusher' and 'Pusher II' and 'Wilbur Wants to Kill Himself'.

At a press conference in Prague yesterday, 'Casino Royale's director Martin Campbell was asked who would play the Bond girl in the film, a major role which has yet to be cast.

Campbell said that there were now "two or three" actresses in the running and added: "You'll just have to wait to find out."

Media speculation has linked 'Kingdom of Heaven' star Eva Green and 'The OC' star Olivia Wilde to the role.
