Betting resumes on Potter six after leak fears

Bookmakers have reopened betting on Professor Dumbledore dying in the next Harry Potter book, despite fears that the manuscript has been leaked.

Suspicions were raised after a number of bets on the death of the headmaster of Hogwarts came from the town of Bungay in Suffolk, where it is believed the book is being printed.

Betting on the character's death was originally opened after series creator JK Rowling allegedly announced that a character would die in the sixth book.

Publishers Bloomsbury have advised readers to take the news about Dumbledore with a pinch of salt.

"There was a huge amount of speculation about 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix' and it was wide of the mark," a spokesperson said.

'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince' will be published on 16 July.
