Good Morning America debut for U2

It has been announced that U2 are to make their debut appearance on the top-rated US television show 'Good Morning America' next month.

Billboard reports that the band will kick off the show's summer concert series, with the 'Good Morning America' team travelling to a concert on U2's current tour.

An interview and three live songs will be broadcast on the show on 20 May, with a further two songs to be aired on 'Good Morning America's weekend edition on 21 May.

Normally 'Good Morning America's concert series takes place in New York's Bryant Park, but the show's producer Mark Bracco said that given U2 were the biggest band in the world, it was "completely viable that we'd do something different".
