Brooke Shields lands West End role

Brooke Shields has landed the lead role in a West End production of 'Chicago'.

The former model, who will play the part of Roxie Hart in the musical, is due to celebrate her 40th birthday during the nine week run of 'Chicago'.

The musical will be Shields' debut on a British stage. She is due to begin her run at the Adelphi Theatre on 26 April.

A spokesperson for 'Chicago' said: "She's going to bring some great pizzazz, sex appeal and excitement to the part of Roxie. Brooke has an amazing star quality - and she looks absolutely fantastic."

The role of Roxie Hart has recently been played by Denise Van Outen, Jennifer Ellison and Jill Halfpenny.
