Backstreet Boys set for summer release

The Backstreet Boys are set to return with a new jive album, to be released this summer.

The quintet have not released a studio album together since 'Black & Blue', which came out in November 2000.

They are currently reported to be narrowing down the material for a 12-track album, after recording more than 40 tracks.

Amongst the songs that the Backstreet Boys recorded for the upcoming album is a cover of the Eagles track 'Best of My Love'.

According to band member Howie Dorough, the band's style has matured. "It's a little more stripped down, a little more organic. There's not necessarily five-part harmony on everything you hear," he said.

The group are due to release a single from the upcoming album in March, with the album scheduled for release in June.
