Kingsley signs up for gangster pic

Oscar winner Ben Kingsley is to star opposite Josh Hartnett and Lucy Liu in the new gangster drama 'Lucky Number Sleven'.

Variety reports that Kingsley will play Shlomo, the leader of New York's biggest crime syndicate, with Hartnett the innocent man used by the mob boss in a murder conspiracy.

Shooting on the Paul McGuigan-directed film will begin on 7 December in Montreal and New York.

McGuigan and Hartnett's latest film, 'Wicker Park', is currently showing in Irish cinemas.
