Pre-Christmas gigs for Josh Ritter

American singer-songwriter Josh Ritter has announced that he will play three acoustic shows in Ireland in the lead up to Christmas.

His last album, 'Hello Starling', was released on Independent Records late last year and entered the Irish Album Charts at Number 2.

Ritter has since has spent most of his time touring the US, Europe and Canada.

'Hello Starling' was recently nominated for the Shortlist Prize in the US and he has also been nominated for three Boston Music Awards - Album Of The Year, Local Song Of The Year (for 'Kathleen') and Male Singer/Songwriter, which he won last year.

The album was released in the UK to unanimously positive review and 'Snow Is Gone/Hello Starling' became the most played song on BBC Radio 2 for two consecutive weeks.

There will be a limited edition of Ritter's debut album, 'Golden Age Of Radio', on release to coincide with the shows. This version will include a bonus CD of rare b-sides.

Tour dates:
Monday 13 December - The Opera House, Cork
Thursday 16 December - Vicar Street, Dublin
Sunday 19 December - Black Box, Galway

All tickets are ¤22.50 and are on sale now.
