Travolta memoir is now due in 2006

It has been announced that John Travolta's autobiography will be published in the autumn of 2006.

In a statement, the actor said: "I've hit a milestone this year in my life, turning 50, and if I waited any longer I'd have to write two books."

The editor in chief at Travolta's US publishers Hyperion, Will Schwalbe, described the star as "a tremendously thoughtful person with remarkable stories to share about himself and his career; about his friendships with people ranging from Marlon Brando to Princess Diana; about the creative process and his passions".

Travolta's new film, 'The Punisher', is released in Irish cinemas on Friday 24 September.
