Pink to star in Janis Joplin movie
Pink is to star in a second biopic about the life of late singer Janis Joplin, provisionally titled 'The Gospel According to Janis'.
With Renée Zellweger already set to play the rock legend in the biopic 'Piece of My Heart', Variety now reports that the Pink-starring film is due to begin shooting this summer with Penelope Spheeris ('Wayne's World') directing.
Commenting on Pink's - real name Alecia Moore - casting, Spheeris said: "After trying to make a picture on Janis' life for 15 years, I'd call Alecia's screen test the most gratifying moment in my film career."
"She is the perfect age to play Janis from when she first came to California at 19 to when she died at 27."
