Aerosmith return with blues record

Aerosmith are to release their long-awaited blues covers album at the end of this month.

Billboard reports that 'Honkin' on Bobo' features Aerosmith's versions of 11 blues classics and one new track by the band, 'The Grind'.

In a statement, frontman Steven Tyler said: "Everything Aerosmith has ever done has been influenced by the blues. This time around, we just brought the influence a little closer to the surface."

Among the songs covered are: Muddy Waters' 'I'm Ready', Bo Diddley's 'Road Runner' and Fleetwood Mac's 'Stop Messin' Around'.

Gorillaz - Plastic Beach

Rating 4

As is the nature with albums as diverse as this in style and contributors, 'Plastic Beach' can be patchy in parts, but the sheer versatility and depth of this sprawling work are its saviours.

Beautifully recorded without taking the grit out of the songs
