Members of Hunt's board step aside
Two members of the Hunt family have stepped aside from the board of the Hunt Museum in Limerick following a controversy over allegations that some of the museum's collection may have been looted by Nazis.
John and Trudy Hunt confirmed they had stepped aside from the board, pending the completion of an investigation into the origins of the collection donated to the State by their late parents.
The Simon Wiesenthal Centre alleged that John and Gertrude Hunt had business dealings with art dealers who had links to Nazis.
The museum board announced last week that it had asked a retired judge to lead the probe, assisted by a senior academic and a museum professional from outside Ireland.
The final report will then be referred to Arts Minister John O'Donoghue.
