Pink makes elephant sanctuary plea

Pink wants Las Vegas illusionists Siegfried & Roy to let their elephant Gildah spend the rest of her life in an animal sanctuary.

MTV.Com reports that Pink wrote to the duo, explaining that during the making of her 'Like a Pill' promo she felt sympathy for an elephant being used in the video.

Following the tiger mauling of Roy in October and subsequent closure of the illusionists' show, 55-year-old Gildah has been alone in her pen at the Mirage Hotel and Casino.

Pink said that relationships meant even more to captive elephants and that in a sanctuary Gildah could "at least have some life as nature intended".

A spokesperson for Siegfried & Roy did not comment to MTV.
