Seymour Hoffman to star as Macbeth

Acclaimed US actor Philip Seymour Hoffman is to star in the title role in a new film version of 'Macbeth'.

The Hollywood Reporter says the adaptation will be helmed by Todd Louiso, who previously directed Hoffman in 'Love Liza'.

Hoffman, best known for his roles in 'Boogie Nights' and 'Magnolia', will be seen on Irish screens next year in Anthony Minghella's new movie 'Cold Mountain'.
