Matrix Reloaded makes $100m record

'The Matrix Reloaded' has become the first film to gross over $100m internationally in its second week of release.

The sci-fi sequel took $113.2m worldwide last week, having opened in a total of 62 countries worldwide. To date it has earned a total of $154m.

The film did well in the UK and Ireland, scoring the fourth biggest opening of all time in this territory.

It had the biggest opening weekend of all time in Korea, Russia, Israel, South Africa, Portugal, the German-speaking parts of Switzerland, Chile, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Bulgaria, Latvia, Romania, Slovakia and the Ukraine.
