U2 frontman on AIDS awareness tour

U2 frontman Bono is on a seven-day bus tour through seven Midwestern states in the US to raise awareness of the AIDS epidemic in Africa.

The Irish rock star stopped off at a truck stop in Iowa on Tuesday to urge drivers to support the fight against the spread of AIDS in Africa.

Bono said truckers can play a vital role in improving the delivery of drugs and vaccines to Africa.

He also talked of reducing the rate of HIV among African truck drivers, saying that half of them have tested positive for the virus.

Actress Ashley Judd is also taking part in the tour, which includes African dancers and musicians.
