Having played Belfast the previous night and just prior to playing two shows at Croke Park as part of the Joshua Tree tour, U2 were in high spirits when they came into studio to talk to Dave Fanning.

In this extract taken from near the end of the interview, the band members have stripped off and DJ Gerry Ryan is leaving the studio. U2 then persuade presenter Dave Fanning to remove his clothes. 

Dave Fanning has a long association with U2. It was on his show that listeners were asked to chose the 'A' side for the first single. Dave Fanning has also been give the opportunity to broadcast U2's singles before anyone else in the world.

The photograph accompanying this clip shows Bono, lead singer with U2 and Dave Fanning, RTÉ Radio 2 broadcaster backstage at the 'Self Aid' concert at the RDS, Dublin on 17 May 1986.

'Self Aid' was at that time the largest live music event ever staged in Ireland; fourteen hours of music from Irish artists was broadcast live by RTÉ Television from the RDS. The public were invited to pledge jobs and money to a job creation fund. U2 performed at the concert.
