English theatre director and producer Joan Littlewood describes how she got the script for the 'The Quare Fellow' and finally met Brendan Behan. She recalls how Behan on seeing Act 1 of the play for the first time in the Theatre Workshop laughed and said, "Ah be Christ I am a fucking genius."

'Brendan Behan - The Writer, The Rebel, And The Rollicking Boy' was a documentary compiled and presented by Anthony Cronin to mark the tenth anniversary of the death of Behan.

The programme was broadcast on the 24 March 1974.
