    In 1955 Brendan Behan married Beatrice ffrench-Salkeld, daughter of artist Cecil Salkeld. The ceremony took place at 7.30 a.m. at Donnybrook church with a small attendance. Beatrice recalls her wedding day in this extract from an RTÉ Radio documentary compiled by Anthony Cronin.

    'Brendan Behan - The Writer, The Rebel, And The Rollicking Boy' was a documentary compiled and presented by Anthony Cronin to mark the tenth anniversary of the death of Behan.

    The programme was broadcast on the 24 March 1974.

    The image accompanying this clip shows Beatrice Behan on a report for 'Evening Extra' about a production of 'Borstal Boy' at the Gaiety Theatre in 1987.

    The programme was broadcast on 5 June 1987.
