Brendan Behan explains how despite living next door to Croke Park he and his friends were more interested in soccer. All Ireland Final day did offer the young Behan and his friends the chance to earn some money by minding the bicycles of countrymen attending a football or hurling match.
Describing the urban rural divide Behan says that, "The country was the country to us and started where the tram tracks ended."
