    Crowds flock to Grafton Street in Dublin to welcome Santa Claus who arrives by sleigh along with a Garda escort. Having made his way through the crowds on the street, Santa Claus settles in to his grotto to greet the children and hear what they want for Christmas.

    Santa's arrival at Switzers on Grafton Street, Dublin was filmed as part of the series 'Anything Goes' and was broadcast on 11 December, 1982.

    Switzers Department Store opened on Grafton Street in 1838 and was acquired by Brown Thomas in 1991. For many children growing up in Dublin a trip to see the Switzers Christmas window or a visit to Santa was an annual treat.

    'Anything Goes' was an RTÉ entertainment series for young people broadcast from 1980 to 1986.
