A special filmed report from 'Newsbeat' showing a young girl exploring the sights and sounds of Christmas in Henry Street, Dublin.

The voiceover features a young girl and reporter Frank Hall discussing what Santa Claus will bring her at Christmas and what Christmas means to her.

Among the items she would like is a surprise in a box. Boys never get surprises she says. The young girl is shown wandering around Henry Street in Dublin city centre looking at decorated shop windows, toys and dolls and at the balloons and trinkets on offer on the street stalls.

'Newsbeat' was a half-hour feature programme which ran on television from Monday to Friday from September 1964 to June 1971. Reporting on stories from around the country, 'Newsbeat' covered affairs of the day with contributions from print journalists and RTÉ news staff.
