A report on the controversial redevelopment of Georgian buildings at Hume Street and St Stephen's Green in Dublin. Patrick Gallagher visits the building occupied by architecture students and others protesting against the development.

The report opens with shots of St Stephen's Green and Hume Street. Patrick Gallagher gives some of the history of St Stephen's Green and the background to the proposed development.

On the doorstep Gallagher talks to three young women about what they are doing and why they are here. The first woman is Marian Finucane. Inside the building he talks to more protestors and sees some of the work they have undertaken. The demonstrators have replaced floor boards and are refixing a mantlepiece. They explain that the stairs has not been refitted because should the building be raided the students can go upstairs by ladder and taking it with them allowing the occupation to continue.

At a press conference John Corcoran managing director of the Green Property Company says that they would be willing to sell the buildings for a price in excess of £200,000.
