"Beyond our worst fears, it has been a seriously bad election result for our party," Michael Noonan tells reporter Charlie Bird on RTÉ's main evening news. With Fine Gael winning only 31 seats, Noonan was left with little choice but to resign as leader of the party and announced his intention during this interview.
