Anne Butler who had been appointed as a presiding officer in Bruff has to step down after she was photographed for 'The Limerick Leader' with Bertie Ahern and Willie O'Dea.

Anne Butler explains that she is a publican in the town and had met all the politicians who were up for election. Marian Finucane points out that as well as being impartial a presiding officer needs to be seen to be impartial.

'Liveline' is a phone-in radio programme broadcast from Monday to Friday from 13.45 to 15.00. The programme is currently presented by Joe Duffy with the tagline "Talk to Joe".
