An extract from a behind the scenes documentary looking at RTÉ coverage of the general election in Febuary 1982. This clip shows the coverage in RTÉ television studios as results are relayed and broadcast.

This includes what can go wrong, such as a power cut that takes RTÉ's studio coverage of the elections off air. Paul McKee on loan from the ITN televsion station occupies himself with computer predictions. Many journalists and RTÉ staff are shown working. Two politicians Alan Shatter and Charles Haughey are shown being made up in advance of a television appearance. RTÉ presenter Brian Farrell can also be seen relaxing in advance of the live broadcast.
