During the election results programme 'Election '77 Special' the Taoiseach Liam Cosgrave appears live on television to concede there will be a new government.
Brian Farrell interrupts an interview with Michael O'Leary to go live to the Taoiseach Liam Cosgrave of the Fine Gael party.
The Taoiseach's early acceptance of defeat in the election was reflected by the nature of the results, with Fianna Fáil taking 84 seats, Fine Gael 43 seats and Labour 17.
