Radio also recorded politicians as they campaigned at public meetings around the country. Charles Haughey expresses concern at the "extreme policies of the left-wing intellectuals of the Labour Party".
Richie Ryan tells supporters in Rathmines that "...this latter-day Fianna Fáil party are a bullying intolerant group of blunderers".
Sean Dunne of Labour is concerned with the "utterly heinous record of this government in the matter of housing".

The photograph accompanying this clip shows Richie Ryan, a Fine Gael candidate in the 1979 elections to the European Parliament, outside Fine Gael's offices in Upper Mount Street, Dublin in March of that year. He was was elected for the constituency of Dublin. This was the first year of elections to the European Parliament.
Richie Ryan was first elected to the Dáil for the constituency of Dublin South-West in a 1959 by-election. He was Minister for Finance and Minister for the Public Service from 1973-1977.
The photographer was Des Gaffney.
