Rodney Rice ends his forty year broadcasting career with a final instalment of 'Saturday View'. He had started out as a television reporter on "7 Days". Then in 1972, he began presenting 'Here and Now' for radio, a role he filled for nine years. In 1986 he moved on to 'Saturday View'.
Rodney Rice established the show as a debate forum for the country's most senior politicians. It became a natural round-off to the week, often pointing to where the focus would lie in the following seven days. His final guest on "Saturday View" was the Taoiseach, Brian Cowen.
