RTÉ News looks back a the career of broadcaster and music collector Ciarán Mac Mathúna following his death.

Ciarán Mac Mathúna worked as a teacher before joining RTÉ where he began to record traditional Irish musicians and singers in their own areas.

Ciarán Mac Mathúna presented television and radio programmes and will probably be most fondly remembered for 'Mo Cheol Thú' a Sunday morning radio programme which ran for 25 years.
