Mairéad Ní Ghráda explains that her title of Woman Organiser made her responsible for programmes for women and children. Mairéad recalls that in theses early days she had no real knowledge of copyright and did not realise that it existed in the spoken word.

With no reader for theatrical plays dramas were often broadcast once an individual turned up with a script. With little or no budgets actors were often friends of the director or producer.

Mairéad Ní Ghráda recalls how they play 'Escape' by John Galsworthy was once announced as being written by a woman and under a different title.
