Gay Byrne launches his autobiography 'The Time of My Life' at a reception in Dobbins restaurant in Dublin.

More than 300 friends, colleagues and family members were all at the launch of 'The Time of My Life'. According to publisher Michael Gill, the book did not need a launch and described the autobiography as a celebration of Gay Byrne.

Talking to RTÉ News Gay says that many people think the book is just about his late accountant Russell Murphy and the scandal that emerged around his finances following Murphy's death. However Gay emphasises that the book is about much more than that. He also describes the unauthorised biography that has just been released as based on hearsay and half truths.

Co-author Deirdre Purcell talks about the process of researching and writing a biography on Gay Byrne.
