  • Extended description

Former President of Ireland Mary Robinson pays tribute to Seamus Heaney following the announcement of his death. They had known each other for a long time and she remembers what a generous poet he was and how much he gave of himself to other people. While humble, he had "the tension of the creative spirit" and took his writing seriously. He was a part of Irish civil society and "we won't see his like again".
