John Skehan reports for radio from Collins Barracks in Cork, where President Kennedy’s helicopter has just landed to a crowd of pressmen and military people. Skehan remarks on how the president is wearing yet another new suit!

President Kennedy is greeted by local officials, including the Lord Mayor Seán Casey. Bands from the 4th and 12th Infantry Battalions of the Irish Army, all Congo veterans, play as he makes his way over to the motorcade that will carry him to Cork city, watched by the local military and their families in the barracks. Congo veterans form a guard of honour.
