    Seán Mac Réamoinn reports for radio from Eyre Square in Galway, where President Kennedy’s car is making its way. The president is standing up in the car, waving at the crowds "with that tremendous vitality, that tremendous verve, that tremendous delight in the whole thing".

    At the Browne Gateway, a number of dignitaries are waiting to greet the president, including politicians, ecclesiastics and representatives of Mórdháil na Gaeltachta, who have a festival on that weekend in Carraroe, Co. Galway. They move onto the platform where the ceremony will take place as the president arrives.
