President Kennedy travels in a motorcade down O'Connell Street, Dublin.

President Kennedy is driven down O’Connell Street, Dublin, followed by secret service agents and a stream of dignitaries. He can be clearly seen standing in an open-top car and waving to the crowd in acknowledgement of their generous welcome. People throng the streets, hang out of windows and stand on building ledges to catch a glimpse of him as he passes by. News and  cameras and press photographers can be spotted on the back of trucks recording the event.

The motorcade travels across O’Connell Bridge, up through Westmoreland Street by Trinity College towards College Green and up Dame Street. Unusually for Ireland, they travel up Dame Street on the right-hand side, or the "wrong side" of the road. At the junction of South Great George’s Street and Dame Street, the crowd break through and mob the presidential car. The cavalcade turns right down to Parliament Street and across the river to North Quays.
