In this clip, Philip Greene gives the background to early sports coverage on Irish radio. Jimmy Mahon, a young technician on those early broadcasts, explains how they were done and recalls "Carbery", the first great Irish radio commentator.

'This Game Is Not Over Yet' was a programme looking back at 50 years of radio sports broadcasting in Ireland.

The programme deals with half a century of sports coverage since the summer of 1926 when 2RN was one of the first radio stations to cover an outdoor sporting event. The event was the All-Ireland Hurling Semi-final between Galway and Kilkenny and commentator was Paddy Mehigan.

'This Game Is Not Over Yet' is a compilation of facts and recollections presided over by Philip Greene. Commentators are the heart of the mattaer and include Paddy Mehigan, Eamon de Barra, Micheal O'Hehir and Seán O'Ceallacháin.
