Ministers leaving the cabinet meeting were evasive about the future leadership of the Unionist Party.

RTÉ reporter Barry Linnane manages to get a few words from Roy Bradford, the Unionist Party Chief Whip, on his way into a meeting of the new Northern Ireland cabinet, which is aware that the leadership of Captain Terence O'Neill is still under question.

Roy Bradford describes the meeting as routine and that other issues would be discussed at the next meeting. The parliamentary party is due to meet in two days and Captain O'Neill's position will be settled then.
