Farrell describes the report as "very timid" although it does make criticisms of the Northern Ireland government. Farrell denies having any connection to Revolutionary Socialist Students in England, which is cited in the report. However, he does acknowledge that they have given assistance to the People's Democracy in the past. Farrell firmly believes in the creation of a socialist republic in Ireland. However, the report implies that he is in favour of violence but have no evidence. He feels that the report identifies him as a scapegoat as they commission did not want all of the responsibility falling on the government.
