- Extended description
RTÉ Radio's 'This Week' looks back at the calm interviews given to RTÉ Television by Ian Paisley and William Craig and compares them to the more rousing addresses each gave their own supporters that same week.
This report features a clip of an interview with Ian Paisley as part of the 'Seven Days' programme earlier that week, where Paisley talks about the preservation of the Ulster Constitution. The night after this calm interview for the television cameras RTÉ reporter Ron Turner sat amongst the Paisleyites in the Ulster Hall the next night, where a different voice and tone was heard from Paisley.
The report also reflects on the diverse approaches presented by William Craig towards the continuing crisis. In an interview earlier this week, Craig talks about a common sense approach. The following night, before an audience of his supporters, Craig speaks somewhat more passionately about the crisis.
