A RUC inspector halts the civil rights march, advising that it would be unsafe for it to proceed. At either side of the RUC barrier, loyalist Ian Paisley and civil rights campaigner Ivan Cooper address their respective supporters.

Cooper addresses the crowds saying that the civil rights movement will continue its activities until such time that every town and village has civil rights in terms of housing allocation, employment, and suffrage. Civil rights stewards keep some young protesters in check.
