Delight for Monaghan who win the Ulster football title at Clones.

The people of Monaghan had another sporting success to celebrate in 1985 following on from Barry McGuigan's boxing exploits the county footballers won back the Ulster title.

Castleblaney school teacher Eamonn McEneaney was the hero on the day scoring 2-04 of his teams total. 20,000 were in Clones to watch Monaghan regain the championship they last won in 1979. The final score was Monaghan 2-09 Derry 0-08.
