Printers at the the Irish Press Group voted to accept a recommendation from the Labour Court.
The four week dispute began when management at the Irish Press laid off staff after printers refused to implement new technology. Part of the Labour Court recommendation states that the print workers claim for a 15% pay rise will only be considered when the Irish Press Group returns to profitability.
Management have to resolve who should mark up type setting instructions printers or journalists?
Pat Lunny of the Irish Press Group and Barney Rorke of the Irish Print Union accept that this issue will be dealt with by the Irish Congress of Trade Unions.
