Roy Keane gives his backing to Ireland's hosting of the Special Olympics.

Roy Keane was in Dublin for the launch of the Support and Athlete Programme for the Special Olympics due to take place in Ireland in June 2003. 

Ireland's most famous footballer flew into Dublin to give his day to the Special Olympics.

The project aims to raise funds for the event. Commenting at the launch, Roy Keane described the fact that the Special Olympics would take place here as great for Ireland and praises the efforts of all those involved.  

Appearing on John Creedon's radio show, Roy Keane refused to say if he would ever play for the Republic of Ireland again.
