Don't drink and drive bus it with Bass.

'Bus It With Bass' is a new, free, late night bus service for Dublin over the Christmas period. The service is being provided by Dublin Bus and Tennents Lager, the distributor of Bass Ale.

The initiative is to support the 'Don't Drink and Drive' campaign and provide transport to those in Dublin city centre enjoying the festive spirit over Christmas. It is hoped the service will help to make the roads safer over the holiday period.

Santa joined the Minister for Justice Pádraig Flynn to launch the service.

Liam Meaney, Managing Director with Tennents, and Bob Montgromery, Managing Director with Dublin Bus, spoke to RTÉ News about the new free initiative.

Over 10,000 people are expected to avail of the free service which will run on the normal Nightlink routes, on the hour between midnight and 3 am from 21 to 23 December and on St Stephen's Day.

In a separate story, RTÉ Aertel launched its Bus Éireann information service providing details of timetables and fares on all provincial routes.
