Packie Bonner is granted the freedom of Donegal and recalls that penalty save against Romania.
Former Ireland and Glasgow Celtic goalkeeper Packie Bonner has become just the second person to receive the freedom of his native Donegal. At the ceremony in Lifford he was described as Ireland's greatest goalkeeper and a role model and inspiration for young people.
It was a proud but emotional day for Packie Bonner and his family as Donegal honoured the man described as a goalkeeping legend.
Packie Bonner was presented with the award by Councillor Enda Bonner, Mayor of County Donegal.
After the ceremony, Packie Bonner told RTÉ News how it is impossible to get away from his penalty save against Romania during the 1990 World Cup.
