Hillary Clinton is on a mission to encourage further links between Ireland and the US.

Hillary Clinton is in Dublin as part of a trade mission to encourage further links between Ireland and the United States. This is her first visit to Ireland since becoming a US Senator. Senator Clinton is accompanied by 30 US business people who have been meeting officials from the Industrial Development Authority (IDA). The former US first lady met the President Mary MacAleese and the Taoiseach Bertie Ahern and she has thanked the Irish people for their support in the wake of the September 11 attacks.

I don't know of any other nation that had a national day of remembrance and that just demonstrated to all of us the deep ties between our countries, particularly between New York and Ireland.

Later on, Hilary Clinton attended a gala dinner hosted by Dublin Chamber of Commerce. She also found time for a spot of shopping. Senator Clinton also refused to say if she planned to run for President of the United States.
