Unemployed Galway man Feilim Mac an Iomaire has taken a novel approach to job-seeking by utilising a high-profile billboard and social media campaign.
Out of work for almost a year, the marketing graduate from Inverin in County Galway has spent the last of his savings renting a billboard on the Merrion Road in Dublin, in a bid to attract attention to his availability for work. His billboard poster branding him as ‘Jobless Paddy’ is also accompanied by a Facebook and Twitter campaign.
Disillusioned with sending out CVs with little or no return, Feilim came up with this novel way to job-seek which also demonstrates his creative side. So far
The response has been absolutely brilliant and everyone has been really positive about it.
Ultimately Feilim would like to work in marketing or advertising and is hoping his concept will help him achieve this goal. If not, he fears he will have no option but to emigrate from Ireland.
